Casa do Monte is less than a 10-minute walk from the Caloura natural pool (and its fantastic restaurant), and is perfectly located for exploring São Miguel Island, as it is about 40 minutes from Furnas (to the east) and the Sete Cidades viewpoint (to the west).

Caloura is an area known for its microclimate and natural pool, but you can also visit Baixa D Areia Beach or Água D Alto Beach (both less than a 10-minute drive from Casa do Monte). It is part of the village of Água de Pau, where you will find some restaurants, a supermarket, and a pharmacy.

The highlight of this house is undoubtedly the fantastic view of the Vila Franca islet and the ocean reflecting the sun on summer days, making it ideal for summer holidays with the family (great for trips with grandparents, parents and grandchildren) or with friends (with space and bed configurations that allow to accommodate more than 8 people) in rooms with private bathrooms. If necessary, you can even extend your reservation to "Casa da Tia Néné", which is right next door and connected through the garden adjacent to both properties.

It is a house that lives outdoors, in the garden, with sea views, al fresco meals and typical summer barbecues. The property is quite extensive, with fruit trees that you can pick and taste (bananas, lemons, oranges, guavas, among others), and with enough space for children to run and play around the house, under the supervision of adults who enjoy the tranquillity and the scenery.

One unique feature is the existence of a spring that runs permanently in the tank at the back of the house. A reminder of bygone eras, reinforced by other traditional architectural features that have been preserved, such as the outdoor bathroom, the stone flooring, and the (now deactivated) wood-burning oven found in the kitchen.

Casa do Monte, a T4+1 type house, despite its "old" design, has been remodelled to meet the comforts sought today. All 4 bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms (two with bathtubs), one located in the attic and occupying the entire length of the house (ideal for use as a family room). On the ground floor, in addition to the 3 bedrooms, there is a powder room, a living room with a large round table (perfect for board games), and, next to the spacious kitchen, another living room with a TV, open-plan to the dining area, with excellent views of the outside through the glazed openings.
